Dubai International Financial Centre brief asked for a conceptual urban planning scheme of DIFC Boulevard, the western road of DIFC District and shape its boundary with Sheikh Zayed Road towers.
The proposal aimed to re-energise and beautify the West Road Boulevard and spur community revitalization; the project features a sheltered pedestrian-friendly meeting place with cafes and lifestyle retail on the main street on the edge of the proposed DIFC Concourse.
The scheme features 2km sculling canal runs at the lower level connecting the three parts of the project. Also, a ribbon wall runs the length of West Road containing and connecting all existing structures. The project was delivered by BCIdesign’s directors in Burrows Cave International.
